Remember, Tables Turn!

It's been almost a year since I left my little diary :'(.  I have been doing a lot of guest posting on other blogs/websites and I know that's not an excuse, but it's a valid reason. Lol. It feels good to be back and trust me, I'm in no hurry to leave.

Today's post is something I wrote for a different blog that a lot of people liked so I decided to share it with you. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it. :)

Sometimes I wonder why people find it difficult to help others. You are in the position you are to help other people. Somebody or a couple of people once helped you, so, why don't you give back? I believe that the measure of success is not how much you're worth or how much you have built or anything like that but how many people you helped become better. Helping somebody doesn't necessarily have to be financial, you can help people in so many other ways.

Have you thought about encouraging somebody you know that really needs it? Sometimes the only thing we as human beings need is knowing that somebody else out there cares and somebody is willing to go out of their way to help. Speaking words of encouragement to somebody over and over again, day after day can actually make that person better.

Have you thought about teaching what you know to someone who could really use it? It could be Math, English, German, Chemistry, how to trade stocks, how to write a good report, etc. If you're self taught, kudos to you but you most likely learnt what you know from somebody else so, it will be nice to do another person some good by passing on the knowledge.

Have you thought of being a mentor to someone or some people who could really use you? Be selective because not everybody that applies to be mentored will be serious enough and also willing to put in the effort. Do your 'weeding out' process and select those you feel will be a great fit. Show them the ropes, encourage them along the way, help them out of their stuck. "This is what I did to get this job: A like this, B like that....". "If you really want to get into Medical School, here's what I did that worked for me.". Do you understand?

Life should never be difficult. For people who have the will and determination to succeed, make yourself a good resource to them. Never look down on people who are not where you are today. Do NOT do that because the person who you look down on today could end up being greater than you tomorrow. Remember, tables turn!

Talk soon

Shortest Pencil vs. Longest Memory

Hello beautiful earthlings, quick question. Am I the only one who has random ideas while out and about? For example, I could be walking to class and an idea for my next blog post comes or I could be eating and an idea to do something random just pops up. Is it just me? No? I thought so.

Long before now, I've missed out on so many brilliant ideas just because I depended on my memory alone to keep them. I know so many people are 'Einsteins' out there but the truth is,  "The shortest pencil is better than the longest memory". Ariel Sharon said it but I'm running with it. What does it mean? Simply put, it is always better to write things than to depend on your memory alone.

I want to encourage everyone to have an 'Idea book'. There should be a book where you write down your thoughts and ideas. From sights and sounds to critical thoughts and exciting innovations. I'm always writing. I use my idea book or sometimes, the 'note' on my phone. Whatever works best for you, just make sure those billion-dollar ideas are well written and well saved.

Don't forget to sign up for free blog updates.
Cheers,

Table For One Please.

Hello there my beautiful earthlings!! Please have a seat with me as I remove the cobwebs from this blog and wipe the dust down. It has been a minute. Happy new year everyone. How many of you are still following through with your new year's resolutions? Haha me neither. It's good to know I'm not the only one.
So being a college student, I'm going to touch on a topic that is very relevant to me as well as those that requested me to write about this. Table for one. What does that mean? It is what it is. Seating alone in your dinning/cafeteria. Is it ok? Does it mean you don't have friends? Are you a low life? Well, the answer is NO. It is perfectly normal to seat by yourself in the dinning even though it seems like everybody has a couple people on their tables.
I do eat alone in my dinning and I seat on the booths for four or more people to emphasize the lack of people thereof. Lol. Most of the time I eat alone because most of my friends live off-campus and they don't eat in the dinning and other times, I prefer to eat in peace than to have people constantly talking to me and making me slow. Listen, one time I went to a Chinese restaurant called China Buffet all by myself and as you can tell by the name, it's a buffet. Imagine sitting down by yourself at such a place. It sounds pathetic but it really isn't. Here's what I do to make eating alone more interesting.
  1. I bring my iPad with me. I watch series/movies on Netflix, I watch my favorite TV shows on the CW App and I Skype with friends and family.
  2. I bring my cellphone. Texting while eating is bad habit but so is talking to people while eating. You can talk on the phone too, I give you permission.
  3.  I bring my Laptop. Although it's huge and inconveniencing sometimes, it's another alternative.
  4. I bring a book. Reading and eating? My favorite thing to do.

Don't ever feel like eating alone is something to be ashamed off. It doesn't mean anything. Just make sure you're entertained. That way, you won't even notice who's looking and who's not.... You're welcome.

Cheers,
Chizom.

Tanned and back!!

Hola my beautiful earthlings!! It feels good to finally be able to reach out to you all once again.
Where have I been you ask? Well, I've been globe trotting. I went back home to Nigeria this summer and it was great. It was nice to see my family, friends, and loved ones. I also got to do my internship at a hospital back home and I loved it. I made so many friends, I got to see some of you in person, and I just learned a whole lot in general. Oh and hey! I got Tanned!!!. Lol. Yes, I've got tan lines to show that I actually got darker over the summer. Hehe
I trust you all had a great summer. Whether you went back home, traveled out, had summer classes, whatever, I hope it was great. I hope to hear from you all from time to time.

Is It Me Or Is It Almost December?

Hola earthlings. How are you all doing? First things first, happy new month. Can you believe we're in Feb already? I swear it's December tomorrow.
Decided to take time out from doing homework and all to post this. It's kind of like a breath of fresh air you know?
So this month is a month of love, not just because of valentine's day, but also because it's my parent's wedding anniversary. It's a day before val's day actually. 21years and and their love is still as strong as the first day. Thanks to them, I have an idea as to what an almost perfect marriage should be like.
Alrightyyy, about val's day. I'm sure you ladies have a list of things you want your men to get y'all. I'm almost pretty sure the new Blackberry Z10 and Q10 would be the first on the list. LOL. I won't lie, it's first on mine too but not for val's day. For val's day, I want a jet to fly over my room and drop a couple dozen red roses stem by stem. So yh, I want it to rain roses. And I also want a huge box of chocolates especially the Chocopologie by Kinpschildt. Pure bliss I tell ya. ^_^ .
All in all, be safe out there my beautiful earthly creatures. God bless.

Happy New Year Earthlings!!

Hey earthlings, how are you all doing? First of all, I would like to say HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!! . I'm pretty sure we all made resolutions for this year and i'm also pretty sure we gave up on them by like the 5th day of the new year. Smh.
I made my own resolutions and I haven't even started working on them. I have just 2 resolutions and they are: . (1) To lose weight. [Yes, I know everybody is saying this and I know it's the easiest one to break but i'm pretty determined. ^_^ ] (2) To get a 4.0 GPA this Spring semester.
If you feel comfortable sharing your resolutions with me, feel free, I might adopt a few too.

XOXOXO
